Custom boost library

Apologies for the potentially simple question but my local system has an old Boost version. I installed 1.86 locally but I can't figure out after looking at cmake files and anything I could think of for a few hours how to successfully point the cmake configuration in ACTS to point to a custom boost directory. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
