Something is missing from install instructions

I have followed the install instructions but do not have a working code base. In particular, there is no index.php in the docroot. So there must be some step I am missing.

I have followed the instructions at https://github.com/acquia/reservoir/blob/8.x-1.x/README.md#how-to-install-reservoir

The result is that in docroot, I have a core, modules and profiles directory, but nothing else. Thus, pointing my browser to the directory shows me the directory listing in Apache.

I assume it's not somehow necessary to literally use "http://my-project.com" as my domain locally.

ps -- It looks like Contenta might be a better fit for me. I was able to get that working so I will probably not follow up on this issue.

I had this problem after trying to reinstall with composer.

My solution was simply to start again. Strange.
