How can I make it so that clicking the CV tab downloads a cv.pdf file instead of opening a Markdown page?

Hello. I would prefer for clicking the CV to download my cv.pdf file stored in my files/ directory instead of opening the Markdown or JSON webpage with CV information. How can I do this? Thank you.

Typically it's better to try and render the PDF in the bowser and give people the option to download it, but triggering a download should look something like this:

If file does not load below, <a href="{{ site.baseurl }}/files/cv.pdf">try downloading (pdf).</a>

I believe you can edit your data/navigation.yml file so that there is an entry like this and no other CV-related entries:

main:
  - title: "CV"
  - url: /files/CV.pdf

Note that this will not delete the generation of the https://your-website.github.io/cv/ webpage. If you really don't want a separate page, you need to also delete the related files (_pages/cv.md or _pages/cv-json.md etc.)
