How to keep io state after reboot

Hello,

I'm facing a very strange and disturbing behavior with iopiplus board on raspberry and home assistant OS.

When the homeassistant instance is rebooting, parts of i/o are set to high and don't keep the last state setted.

There is any change to manage it using python programing or something else ?

The IO Pi class was set to initialise the IO Pi on reboot which would have set all of the pins as inputs with pull-ups disabled.

I have updated the code to disable the initialisation so it should keep its existing settings during reboot. Please can you try downloading the updated binary_sensor.py and switch.py files in the abelectronicsiopi folder and see if that fixes the problem?

Hi, sorry, last time I updated the code I didn't notice that it was setting the state in two places. I have just pushed a new update to switch.py which should fix the issue. I have tested it on my Raspberry Pi and it appears to be working properly.

The code now reads the existing state of each output from the IO Pi on startup and updates the Home Assistant UI so the only time the IO Pi will reset the outputs is if it looses power, in which case the bus would be set to inputs while Home Assistant boots as that is the default state of the MCP23017 I/O chips when they first power on.

If you find that the relays are still turning on when the Raspberry Pi is powered on you may want to add an inverter between the IO Pi output and the relay to change the relays default state to off.
