What can you do with an aaru image after you make it?

I made an aaruf format image of an audio CD I have. What's next? I can't seem to use it for anything since I can't convert it to anything without "loss of data", which seems to me that now it's just a useless file. Is there supposed to be a way I can use the image for something, such as to rip it into a different format?

If you don't care, use force option.

Thanks for reaching out.

You could use an audio player that directly read the Aaru File format, such as aaru-dps/RedBookPlayer.

This is the currently expected behaviour of Aaru. Would you be able to share the output of aaru i info Queen\ Greatest\ Hits.aaruf?

If converting to a format like toc while ignoring loss is not planned, is there a way I could mount the image like a virtual CD drive so I can use it with other programs instead of being restricted to only being able to use RedBookPlayer?

Hello,

Thank you. In the meantime, I was able to get some more details on the current situation (I am citing @claunia here): the Aaru project had an increasing number of bug reports due to hidden tracks (aka pregaps in track 1) when exporting to 3rd party formats. And every time one was fixed, more appeared. So converting images with hidden tracks in CDRWin, Alcohol and CloneCD was disabled in 5.3.2 to prevent more bugs appearing. The functionality might be re-enabled in the future if development resources are able to dedicate some time to it.

One solution for you would be to use Aaru 5.3.1 (available for download on GitHub). In 5.3.1, Aaru would still allow you to convert the images, but with a chance for conversion bugs to appear. But you have to accept this risk.
