I'm sorry, I can't help. The original tsop7000 is no longer available. B&O IR eyes are sometimes offered on ebay. These can also be used as receivers if you adapt the SW accordingly. I have read this but have not tested it myself. The china TSOP7000 replicas have the known disadvantages, but in principle they work. The interference pulses and hiccups are suppressed in the software.

Based on your experience, when using software suppression, what is the difference between the replica and the genuine model? do you still have surprises (sun, artificial lights...)?

the differences, as far as I have seen, are:

• the original TSOP7000 do not have “dummy pulses” after the 200µs carrier pulse
• the original TSOP7000 do not work with 3.3V but have to be driven with 5 volts. But, well the output has only 3.3V, so no level-shift is needed for using it with ESP32
• The short hiccup frames (triggerd by sun-light, noise from the ESP32 etc.) occur somewhat less frequently. But I don't see a real problem here, since they are reliably filtered by the software. I also don't have the impression that the esp32 is heavily loaded or so, it easily can do other things as well, i.e it usually gets bored and waits for the “slow” human to finally press a button on the beo4 remote control. This applies to the RMT-based software solution.
• I have not yet installed a proper housing or a filter-glass in front of the IR receiver, as seen in stereo systems. I expect that then interferences from sunlight etc. will be suppressed even better. But I'm still not sure which material and which color is best suited, probably gray acrylic glass.
• I have the impression that the hiccups are less if the tsop7000 is placed at some distance from the esp32.

I would say just give it a try, the replicas are not super cheap but not really expensive either.
