Rust-based Implementation for Meeting Minutes Check it out!

This PR introduces an experimental Rust-based implementation that aims to improve performance and provide better native integration.

Key Features

• Real-time audio capture from both microphone and system audio using screenpipe
• Local Whisper-based transcription with speaker diarization
• Native desktop app using Tauri instead of Electron
• Rich text editor for note-taking

Major Changes

• Added /experiment directory containing:
  • rust_based_implementation/: Tauri + Next.js + Rust implementation
  • screenpipe/: Required audio processing library
  • simple_recorder.rs: Basic audio implementation prototype
• Updated root README.md to reference the experimental implementation
• Added detailed documentation for the Rust implementation

Dependencies

• Requires screenpipe (https://github.com/mediar-ai/screenpipe)
• Uses local Whisper model for transcription
• Tauri for desktop integration

Testing

• Tested on macOS with both microphone and system audio capture
• Verified transcription accuracy with local Whisper model
• Confirmed real-time performance improvements

Notes

• This is an experimental implementation and runs parallel to the main Electron-based app
• All processing happens locally for better privacy
• Currently macOS-focused, but designed with cross-platform support in mind
