Unable to add Network Drive as Included Location for Icaros Cache

I'm trying to enable Icaros Cache on a mapped network drive.
It is not present in Locations > Add Folder Select

I also tried adding it via drag & drop, which gives me this error :

The error is also the same if I try to drag & drop a subfolder of this network drive

Important thing, I can add it as a network location with \\address\share. When doing that and browsing it through the network drive V:, it correctly adds thumbnails to the cache (entry count increases). The thumbnails load quicker than the 1st time, but I'm not sure it works as they could be coming from Windows cache.

This is likely the same issue I mentioned here #22 (comment), where network drives are mounted as your user, and are unavailable to processes/services running as other users (i.e. SYSTEM).

This could potentially be resolved by mounting the drives using the SYSTEM user, but to my knowledge that's not persistent and you'd have to do it with a scheduled task.

Alternatively, a path translation layer or resolving paths (and in the case of #22, retrieving data to generate thumbnails) as the local user (there are various APIs to change the calling user, could also just run a service process as the local user) would also work as a more reliable solution for less technically savvy people.
The service process could be optional and could also be started on demand, when it's actually needed, I can't imagine the thumbnail extension would be getting many file/directory not found exceptions that aren't connected to permission issues, so a file/directory not found exception could be used to start up the user service and IPC could be used to communicate with it, telling it which paths to generate thumbnails for, passing byte arrays back to display the thumbnail, the service could shut itself down after a few minutes of inactivity.
In the case of cache on mounted drives/linked folders, the thumbnail extension would have to test access to the cache path, and if it fails, see if the user service can access it, if it can then it would have to communicate cached thumbnails via IPC when they're requested, it wouldn't be the prettiest solution, and it would add some overhead, but it would function where it does not right now, though I feel like placing the cache on a network share, especially over SMB, could add significant latency that the value of the cache would be significantly diminished, it would likely be faster to generate thumbnails than to fetch them, so declining "cache on network shares" support wouldn't be unreasonable.

This is likely working, and you'd likely have files on your share to prove it, users other than your own can access network paths just fine, it's just that they don't see the mounted drives (you can see this if you run any application that offers file browsing as admin, for example, your browser and then save a page/download a file and you'll see the network drives don't show up). If the network paths require credentials they must be present in the Credential Manager (even if the credentials match your Windows user's username and password)
