winetricks xna31 fails inside a Proton prefix

Hello. I'm trying to execute protontricks xna31 for a game called Plain Sight (appid 49900) but the setup fails with an error. I remember previous version of Proton, Winetricks and Wine would work for this verb. Upstream Winetricks still works with Wine 10 if i use it on a regular prefix. Could this be a Winetricks issue?
I also tried this with Proton's downstream wine fork outside on a regular non-proton prefix and it works too.
