Description
Hello, and thanks for all the developer's work on winetricks!
I don't seem to be able to access https:// secure sites with internet explorer 8 using winetricks IE_8 and IE_8 patches (namely, security update and the patch specifically to enable IE_8 to use TLS 1.2 encryption). All of the installs seem to install fine and the registry changes seem to be being made, but when I use IE_8 and go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced, all I see for security options are SSL1-3 and TLS 1.0. I need IE and not the default winebrowser since I need to be able to use javascript that another program installation relies on by such scripts, and I can't use another browser (e.g. firebox which installs fine) due to the program that needs IE to download further setup files doesn't work on firefox.
I have been able to get IE_8 to otherwise work fine (i.e. it opens up non-https: sites and www.google.com) but will need the TLS 2.0 update to get to https: sites.
I read that the IE_8 TLS 1. 2 patch was from a 32 bit Win XP installation, and thus, I tried setting my 32 bit prefix in different Windows configuration from XP to Win 10 but I'm still not able to get the TLS_1.2 patch to allow me to set my installed IE_8 to set the security to the TLS 1.2 configuration.
I'm currently using Wine 9.0
I appreciate any help you can provide on this matter.
Thanks! :-)
