Hello.
Is there any possibility to display keyboard layout in waybar using it in wayfire?

Unfortunately, no. It would be nice to add an IPC method to query keyboard layout and then you could probably hack together a simple Waybar module to do so. Or, we need an upstream wayland protocol for that, but there are currently no such protocols.

Then another question arises: what command can be used in the terminal to view the current layout?

There isn't one, as that would require either IPC or a custom protocol :/

I'm no expert, but Wayfire somehow sets the keyboard layout. Not by the power of thought?

Yes, Wayfire and the currently focused application both know the keyboard layout. But there is currently no way for other applications to query that layout.

As this was requested a lot in recent times, see the PR #2664 and the python bindings PR: WayfireWM/pywayfire#24

With them you can get the currently active layout, all possible layouts and also set the layout.
