[Bug]: corrupted loose file reference: FETCH_HEAD

Description

I keep running into this issue where the following error occurs and I get an error at every sync:

I do not have a consistent steps to reproduce the issue. I do have a consistent solution though: If I go into the .git folder and remove the FETCH_HEAD.lock file, then I can sync again.
The auto-fix button does not work.

Frequency of the issue re-occurring seems to be every couple of days.

Minimal Reproduction

I don't have exact steps (yet) on how to reproduce it.
I guess manually recreating the FETCH_HEAD.lock file would cause the same error, but what causes that file to be there is not clear to me as of now.

Exception or Error

The exception is in the screenshot. I tried to file the bug report using the bug report feature in the app, but it asked me to provide access to all my github repo's, and my client's policies do not allow me to do that.

Just as a "by the way", the Attempt Auto-Fix button in that dialog automatically does the deletion of the correct file for you (or at least it should)

This, I think, usually happens when you're using mutliple git clients at once because they conflict. For most users, this is obsidian-git, the plugin, and the GitSync app.

Let me know if that sounds wrong in your case and I can help figure out the source :)

Also upon rereading I notice that you mention the github oauth is for all repos access, which it definitely doesn't need to be. Will prepare a fix for that 👍🏾

I think I tried that and it didn't work, but I will try it again next time and see if I can get some logs if it doesn't work.

Hmm, maybe. I have a setup where I am running another notekeeping app (Logseq) on Android and desktop, and I'm using git to sync between the two. On desktop, logseq has git integration which does the commits, but the logseq android app has no settings about git, so I use logseq for the commits and pushes on android. However, maybe there is still some git stuff going in the Logseq android app that interferes somehow.

Yeah, are there any integration settings on Android for this? Obsidian-git has a toggle in it's settings to solve this issue labeled "Disabled on this device".

Can you give me more info on what you're using on Desktop?

No, not in the logseq app at least. The tab 'Version control' in the settings, which does exist in the desktop version, is not there in the Android version. And I also don't see other settings in the app that look relevant.

On desktop, I'm using Logseq 0.10.13 with the setting 'Version Control'->'Enable git auto-commit' set to true. That setting automatically makes regular commits to the git repository.
Then I've setup a crontab to push every 5 minutes to my remote using regular git push command.

Could I suggest that you just add the auto committing behaviour to your crontab?

I think your other alternative is to use different configs per device.
With git, this would probably be done by adding config.edn to the .gitignore file and then modifying it on mobile to flip that flag off. I wouldn't know the name off the top of my head, but I assume it's named decently in the config file.
This would allow mobile to disable the auto commit behaviour while keeping it on desktop.. I think :)
