Actual behaviour

When I connect two Companion instances, the game slows down to a crawl. FPS drops below 5.

Connecting just one Companion seems to use up a lot of computational resources in the desktop app as well but I have not inspected this in detail.

Expected behaviour

When I connect two Companion instances, the game should not slow down at all.

Steps to reproduce

  • Reproducible (mark with x): [x] always, [ ] sometimes

Run the companion app on two Android phones. Connect both companions to UltraStar. Turn the microphones on for both companions. Wait 10 seconds for the performance of UltraStar to deteriorate.

  • Game version: Melody Mania 1.5.1
  • Operating System and version: SteamOS 3.7.13 (Steam Deck), Proton 9.0-4

Implementation hints

Melody Mania 1.5.0 does not exhibit this flaw. Focus on the difference between these versions.
