Simplier optimizer #4
Description
I think it might be worthing adding a simplier optimzer than Highlander. Optim was used originally in Robotham+2011 and it'll be worthwhile having a quick and dirty method that could be run without needing a HPC environment for people. Also, we only have two parameters to really tune so Highlander might be complete overkill.
We've added a Nelder-Meade method in the python version which Optim in R also uses so it might be worth implementing a similar helper function that can do this quickly.
