I was testing the engine's save system, and I noticed that it saves the current level only after it is completed, which means that if the player leaves the current level and then loads the save, it goes back to the level that came before it, and there is no current level. The answer is in your question. Load the game into the level following the one which was "saved"

Looking at it now it is kinda unintuitive LOL, but you can modify it to work however you want it

I managed to solve it by changing the game to save when the level starts instead of when it ends, and I created a global variable to prevent the game from saving after the player restarts the level or dies and returns from a checkpoint.
