Wording my thoughts here is hard, kindly asking to clarify a couple points in your work:

1. Generally feels too baity. Using the terminal, or creating simple autostart units for sure isn't a blocking part for a very narrow and technical slice of all desktop users. Not saying GUI=bad as libvibrant itself offers both - it's pushed too hard!

2. Why is it a fork if you haven't commited new code? I extracted the AppImage inside a VM and saw lots of PyQt code which aren't present in the repo (closed source calling GPL code violation too?) Edit: I saw the Source-Code.zip in a previous release (Not GitHub's auto generated source release), makes no sense at 598 MB, won't check it myself.

3. It could have been done as a new python repository depending on nvibrant PyPI using my get_best function to find a packaged binary and using it, installing pyqt is widely available on all systems and pip too

4. Would be nice to know how you made the appimage, ideally under isolated environments, workflows, I can't trust it, specially with the unpractical 750 MB of shared libraries in there
