Port over Night view?

I'm wondering if it's worth it to port this shader over as a component so that it runs with less resources and can be used as a wallpaper.

I didn't investigate further so yeah, this shader (in fact every shader/component) has this focussing issue on KDE

and as you can see from the discussion with the kde dev (https://discuss.kde.org/t/layer-shell-prevents-desktop-interaction/31259) I don't really have hints how to make my surface truly "click-through".

I think I could try to peek into similar projects and see how they resolved it (if they solved it at all)

Hmm, I see...

For glava, at first, it was not possible to click through, but the effect would not disappear on desktop interaction. For some reason, it recently became click through, even though the project hasn't been updated since. (But I guess glava sort of created an X11 window, so I might be irrelevant to your project...)

Wait, so you mean glava can be used on wayland for a desktop environment?

Hm... on cosmic a window just appears if I do glava --desktop

Yes, just confirmed it. So it creates what looks like an x11 window, but that only appear when you ALT+TAB (not in the taskbar). But it doesn't disappear when interacting with the Wallpaper, and it is also right-clickable (opens the desktop settings).
