[Feature] widget or standalone program with widget functionallity on PC/Laptop

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
The problem is, that using Thunderbird (only for viewing tasks) is a mess; especially because that tool does not handle structured tasks (super- and sub-tasks). Any task is shown in the same level.

Describe the solution you'd like
A widget (as on android) or a litte program, which has the widget functionallity in it, running on PC/Laptop.
As a OS-overlapping programming language JAVA would fit, but I guess there are several others which do. I'm a longer time out of software development

Describe alternatives you've considered
As seen as feature request an API is requested - that might be helpful for another developer, which only need to do the GUI work then.

Hi @itsbrody , thanks for your message. This is actually not a feature request, but a request for a completely new application. I might do something like this in the future based on Kotlin Multiplatform, but for now I don't have the time for that. I'll move this issue to discussions.
