Use as a basic dropdown?

I am using this excellent library to roll a custom combobox, and now I'm looking at customizing a basic select element with a custom dropdown. So, instead of programming my own custom basic select/dropdown or finding a different library that just does custom basic dropdowns, can this autoComplete library be configured to behave as a plain, basic custom dropdown? If so, how?
