Coursework content

  • Watch this video by Gargi Sharma (26 mins) where she discusses the importance of ‘bragging’ about yourself and celebrating your achievements.
  • Next, think about your work now and training to become a developer. How can you start to make your work visible? What has happened over the past week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, 4 weeks, 8 weeks since you started the course that you are proud of?
  • Create a Brag doc/diary in template in Google Doc and write about your past achievements in the course. Below is an example of a past trainee’s brag diary.
  • Update this diary at least once a month.
Challenge Achievement
The past few weeks we learned about REACT, a JavaScript library/framework that allows us to create robust web applications that are reliable and scalable. In the first week, I was very challenged, I hardly knew how to approach the topics we learned about as it was new and had replaced the previous lessons we had about HTML and CSS, now we had to learn how to build a web application using a different stack. After wrestling with the code and concepts for a while, I adapted quickly and took the initiative by using it practically in the weekly projects we were given. I managed to complete the Pokedex project as well as the hotel project. Although it was tough I learned to love the process that REACT offers and I would love to use it to build another web application again.
