Updating validators on the fly doesnt work

I'm trying to update the form options via .update() however the validators are not replaced. The options is only updated if I force a defaultValues that's different from the initial default values. Am I missing something or it is a bug?

const form = useForm({
     defaultValues: ...
     onSubmit: async({formApi, value}){
     ...
     }
})

//Function calls to change schema
const onEdit = () => {
  const newSchema = getSchema() //Get zod schema based on edit/delete

  form.update({
       ...form.options,
       validators: {
            onBlur: newSchema
            onChange: newSchema
       }
  })
}
