How to use the function systemrdl.importer.RDLImporter.assign_property for non basic types.

Given the UDP:

property tags {
  type = string[];
  component = field | reg;
};

The function assign_property

  self.importer.assign_property(field, "tags", ["foo", "bar"])

Returns the error:

systemrdl.messages.RDLCompileError: Incompatible assignment to property 'tags'

Similarly, I could not find the type expected for the property swwe when it should reference another register field, I tried string, component, but all returne error.

Array types should be supported, but I suspect there is a bug in the importer implementation.
The current implementation of the importer is somewhat hacky and is overdue for a refactor - I suspect something internal is expecting the array to be wrapped in an AST object when injecting it.
I have created #276 to track a fix for this.

Regarding cross-references to other instances, this is not supported yet and will likely need a more thorough rewrite of the importer API. See #214

Regarding the cross-references to other intances, for swwe specifically, I suspect that accepting a string with the reference name might be enough for the importer to be able to generate valid RDL (at least a good workaround)?
Having the object reference is more important when you are parsing rdl to generate RTL for instance.

As a hack maybe, but currently nothing in the back-end is set up to accept a string for swwe. Would rather fix the mechanism to allow references than to incur the technical debt otherwise.
Upcoming release includes several core refactors to the internals. Will try to scope these fixes in as well
