Metrics Not Scraping Due to Token Authentication Requirement

• Description:

  We are experiencing an issue where several metrics are not being scraped by Sumo Logic, despite having the proper labels as the endpoint require a service bearer token for authentication.

• Problem:

  Sumo Logic has stated that token authentication between the OpenTelemetry Collector and ServiceMonitor is currently not
  supported.
  The affected endpoints require token authentication to scrape metrics.
  Although the ServiceMonitor is discovering the endpoints, the metrics cannot be scraped because the required token cannot be
  passed.

• Attempts to Resolve:

  We tried passing the token directly in the ServiceMonitor configuration, but it did not work.
  We also attempted to pass the token as an environment variable, but this approach was unsuccessful as well.

• Additional Information:

  Sumo has indicated that this enhancement is already planned for Q4.

This should be supported in helm chart version v4.13.0 which uses operator version v0.115.0
