Decky loader as an AUR package

I've built a PKGBUILD for decky-loader and published it to the AUR: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/decky-loader-bin
Open to (and interested in) feedback.

I'm using this on an Arch (garuda) gaming PC, that I set up to switch to the steamdeck UI and decky-loader nicely incorporates additional functionality.

Please clarify that this is an unofficial package. Does this packaging work with converting to the pre-release versions? We also use two different versions of the service depending on whether the user installs the pre-release version which allows us to collect more debug information from pre-release users. Losing this ability to AUR users would mean those users are harder to support.

The package will only follow the release versions, no pre-releases.

This is a major issue for maintaining support for potentially breaking changes caused by game mode UI that we get fixes out for. Is a pre-release version of the package possible? Pre-release versions always end in -preX, where X is a number.

I've been running the normal releases for a while now. It has seen some intermittent crashing. Is the advice to always run the pre-release versions? The install guide indicates otherwise. I could also make an additional package, specifically for pre-releases.

I'm not aware of any intermittent crashing but I don't run decky on anything other than deck + SteamOS. If you can make a pre-release package I'd like to test it on my home arch desktop.

For my understanding. On the deck, you are running the stable releases and breaking changes in the steam client are not causing issues. On your desktop, you'd like to run the prerelease. Is the reason that you do expect issues on your desktop due to breaking changes in the steam client?

The primary problem is the removal of the .desktop file that we use on the deck as the installer and tool to swap between releases if the UI is broken (the pre-release version also installs a different systemd file that enables debug logging that would be otherwise not visible in the logs a user sends back to us). Ideally there would be a single package that gave the user better installer for decky, but I trust and understand your decision to pick a version and use that.
