Variable fonts is something more tailored for the Web: https://fonts.google.com/knowledge/introducing_type/introducing_variable_fonts Even VSCode is not fully support it, only the variable line heights is supported. What is the state of variable fonts support on ecode? |

Not supported. I think it's irrelevant for ecode and also variable fonts don't really work that well in my experience since they are kinda unreliable (because weights produce many unexpected results when used something that it's not standard). And variable line heights isn't event something I think it's a good idea for an editor to begin with. |

Although ecode does support mixing font style in editor (bold, italics, etc), that's more than enough.
