We agree this would be a good improvement! In past versions this was closely tied to the player or editor movement, whereas after the most recent update it's more straightforward to make this change. We'll likely add a command-line flag alongside to turn off using the camera position for debugging purposes. |

This would most certainly help. The primary issue with it currently is the fact that you need to exit freecam and teleport your character to continue viewing the map elsewhere. Not to mention moving builds across the map using workzone is less than ideal currently. |

I see that my request got added by today's update: "Freecam now loads distance objects and trees, much better for recording or spectating!" |

It would be very helpful to let level objects and trees fully load at free cam position even when very far away from player location.
before last game update objects skybox was loaded at least, now at very far areas it is not.
I guess this request doesn't involve doing server side changes. since it is focused on level objects and trees only.
so, I guess, it is simply to update region based on camera location not character location, when using free cam.
please note that the region that character is inside it shouldn't get unloaded, because if he was standing inside building and it get unloaded then he will keep trying to fall down client side, while server preventing it.
