Step 2: Optionally add an airway segmentation

Checking the appropriate checkbox in LungCtSegmenter will use the Segment Editor´s "Local Threshold" effect to produce an airway segmentation.

Select the detail level from the drop-down menu.

The airway segmentation can be further fine-tuned by altering the "Airway thresholds". In case of airway leaks: decrease the upper threshold. In case of incomplete airways: increase the upper threshold with care.

The airway segmentation and all changes to its parameters will only be visible after pressing "Apply". Best airway segmentation results are obtained by using high-resolution CTs and a slice thickness of 1 mm.
