How do we setup a form to add people to a shops email subscription / newsletter?

We are working on making this possible. In the mean time, you can test with the unstable Storefront API endpoint customerEmailMarketingSubscribe mutations.

Yeah this was quite unfortunate... I spent so much time rebuilding my site from scratch only to abandon it because this essential (and extremely important) feature was not implemented 🙃.
