Windows app?

Hello. Is it possible to create a working windows application from this source code? I do not know programming, and I am looking for a program with a simple graphical interface for Riden RD6018. Regards

This works on Windows, Qt is a cross-platform GUI library that's used in a lot of popular programs.
Programs using Qt are usually written in C++ or other compiled languages using bindings, but because this program was written in Python there's no neat way to compile an easy-to-use binary or installer.

You can follow the Installation section to get it working.
You just have to install Python via Python.org, Microsoft Store, Winget, or Conda.
Then using pip install pyqt5 or pyqt6 and install RidenGUI.

EDIT: I do have plans to make a Riden library in Rust and frontend using egui but that won't happen any time soon.

I managed to run the program, but I entered the wrong COM port, so now I get the message every time:

How to change the port or restart the configuration menu?

Launching with the --port or -p flag will allow you to select a different port for that instance.
If I remember right the config file is located at %appdata%\ShayBox\RidenGUI.

EDIT: If you'd like a shortcut or start menu entry for RidenGUI, you can create a shortcut to ridengui and move it to %appdata%\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

OK, the program was successfully launched. It is a pity that there is such a long delay of the result before it appears on the computer screen, it takes almost 2 seconds. Can anything be done about it?

There's not much that can be done about the program open time, but you can increase the baud rate, I'm able to use 250000 using UniSoft's custom firmware, and decreasing the polling time in settings (0 will go as fast as possible) helps with responsiveness.
