i am trying to create manifest for personal use.
the downloaded file is a .zip file.
and for some reason, it seems that the switches from Expand-7zipArchive are not reaching 7z.exe and hence, it is failing on password.

Following is what i put in there in the manifest:

	"pre_install": "Expand-7zipArchive \"$dir\\$fname\" -Overwrite All -Switches '-p0000 -bb3' -Removal",

The $fname is inspired from installer.script at App-Manifests scoop wiki
And nirlauncher seems to be only manifest using the passwords switch i.e. using 7z -p.

Anyhow, on running scoop install <app>.json it's always resulting in same 7zip.log in the <app>\<original_ver> dir:

I also tried to isolate the scoop/lib/decompress.ps1 Expand-7zipArchive function call as instructed in answers here: SO: q/1405750, but it failed as the context or say global config vars were not available to it:

nope, showed same errors:

i tried tee-object cmdlet, or even tee.exe --ignore-interrupts from msys2, but they don't survive a crash.
so, i resorted to wezterm record and wezterm replay which revealed the error to be:

oh i never read till now. it's funny & strange too "can't find file"
also the curious thing, that the log file went to the root of the drive D:\ rather than ending up in that qipress/..../ dir

Hmm, it's the ./ prefix that cause the problem. Expand-7zipArchive is designed to be used with full path, so could you try with full path again?

yes it works. surprising to me that even .\ prefix also causes problem

This is due to scoop's auto extraction of zip file, so you should skip the feature by renaming the downloaded file to *.zip_.

update:
it works. finalllly. i've been trying for quite long to get this working.

and so glad that qipress stores its create on first-run config data in directories as otherwise, it it were in root-files, it would have been yet another hurdle lol

Some programs create their config file on the first startup. Like smplayer (See: ScoopInstaller/Extras#429)
Currently, a file that doesn't exist in the apps directory after installation can't be made persistent.
It will create a directory named like the nonexistent file and link it to the apps directory.
