Migration to Vercel from GitHub Pages

Why Doesn't GitHub Pages Work Anymore?

The latest website code relies on Next.js Server Actions, which aren't supported by GitHub Pages static sites. Additionally, managing Vercel deployments (used for preview environments) alongside GitHub Pages has become cumbersome. As a result, we're switching to Vercel permanently.

What is the Plan for Moving Forward?

The website is already live at https://drifty.vercel.app/ since Vercel was integrated into the project. We'll now make this the primary project link and add a redirection notice on the existing GitHub Pages site.

For the next 6 months, the GitHub Pages site will display a notice about the move. After that period, it will automatically redirect visitors to the new Vercel site.
