LWCC fully configurable/customizable like 'vanilla' Chart.js

Hi all,
I'm new to FE and LWC, and for a project I'm using LWCC. There are some customizations I would like to make, for example the background grid, legend placement etc. I was wondering if LWCC is restricted to the attributes summed up on these pages :https://salesforcelabs.github.io/LightningWebChartJS/

If not restricted, and customization is possible like mentioned on these pages: https://www.chartjs.org/docs/2.7.3/configuration/tooltip.html
in what files/components can I configure or make additions?

LWCC is currently restricted to the attributes summed up on these pages, right.
If you want to be sure of what is supported by the library, look at the code for tooltip, in this case it exposes what Chart.js propose.
