CORSIKA Generation Volume #761

Description

@marcodeltutto

We currently limit CORSIKA particles to only those that are likely to enter the cryostat. This means that we are not simulating all cosmics that can make a CRT hit.

This is how CORSIKA events are generated:

  1. Primary particles from CORSIKA are first placed on a surface at the ceiling of the cryostat. This surface extends 10 meters beyond the cryostat in all four directions.
  2. We then keep only the particles that are expected to enter the cryostat, including a 3-meter buffer zone around it.
  3. These selected particles are then extrapolated up to a height of 18.5 meters.

The volume in step 2 should be increased to keep all particles that can make a CRT hit.
