macrocore vs sasjscore vs sasjscore-main

Hi there!

I downloaded sasjscore.zip and sasjscore-main.zip from github.com/SASPAC/sasjscore. When I try %loadPackage(sasjscore) or %loadPackage(sasjscore-main), it doesn't work.

On the other hand, I downloaded macrocore.zip from github.com/yabwon/SAS_PACKAGES, and this one loads with %loadPackage(macrocore).

Could you explain the differences between these 3?

Thanks for starting this discussion!

First thing is that sasjscore-main.zip is a zip of all the repository content i.e., it contains both the sasjscore package and all the raw source files.

Second thing, the macrocore is obsolete version of the sasjscore, we keep it just for historical/backward compatibility reasons. I do not recommend to use it.

Third thing, I've tested sasjscore loading and couldn't reproduce any errors. Could you share your log, so we could investigate more?

In the mean time let me share steps I did for loading so you could compare them with yours:

1. I created a folder for the SPF framework and packages, in my case it was: R:\PCKG (your is probably different e.g. on other drive, like C:, or even on Linux host)
2. I set up the packages filename like this:

filename packages "R:\PCKG";

3. Run the following code to install the framework:

filename SPFinit url "https://raw.githubusercontent.com/yabwon/SAS_PACKAGES/main/SPF/SPFinit.sas";
%include SPFinit; 
%installPackage(SPFinit) 

4. Run the following code to enable the SAS Packages Framework:

%include packages(SPFinit.sas);

(remember, this step and step 2 have to be repeated at the start of each session)

5. Next I went to the: https://github.com/SASPAC/sasjscore and clicked on the sasjscore.zip file:
   

6. After that, on the page that opened, I selected Download button:
   
   and I put the zip in the R:\PCKG folder:
   

7. After that I went back to my SAS session and run:

%loadPackage(sasjscore)

to load the sasjscore, here is a part of the log:

Hi Bart,

The problem was that I had another version of SASjsCore (smaller file size). I don't know where exactly I downloaded this smaller one.

Now, with SASjsCore 4.45.4, loading of the package works.
