Will Anthropic's Fast Edit Mode be available anytime soon?

The apply_diff tool is great. Way better than rewriting the whole file, but still, it's very buggy and also still quite slow in how it will scroll through the same file 10 files making small edits each time when it could do it all in one pass. Anthropic's Fast Edit Mode might be the best solution for quicker edits. Will it be available anytime soon?

Separate from fast edit - I/we should fix the apply diff so it can apply multiple in one pass

Just fixing the apply_diff would be AWESOME already.
I've lost soooo many tokens, spent on the model trying to applying DIFFs, reading the file once again, trying again, and stuck in a never ending loop because it can't find the line number or is having issues with idents....

We should improve it by creating a more robust diff, something that is not just the AI, but with coding guidance. A fuzzy_diff . hehe

@rwrz is it still bad for you on the latest version? Which model/provider?

I tried with Google Pro 2.5, and it consumed more than 7MM tokens to do something relatively simple... failing with diffs all the time.
Latest version? not really, since it changes quite fast, but it was one of the first to be compatible with Google.

But this issue of "not being able to apply a diff", trying again, and consuming thousands or millions of tokens is very frequent. At least with DART/Flutter. Maybe because Dart has too many idents? Not sure...
Usually, it goes fine with Go, but it has issues to apply "import" diffs (which is also very frustrating.. something so simple).
