New form of Curve (sound)

Grant access to the program to use the microphone on a PC. Then use the microphone noise in dicibels, then set a limit instead of a specific speed for each fan but a decibel limit, that then tunes the fans to create a static profile for all devices?

So ... it would be like an additional parameter for a given control/fan? So if a fan curve ask for a % above the set limit, it gets blocked at that limit?

Exactly, the fans can't increase beyond a specific measure decibel level. This is all relative to how close the microphone is to the PC, etc. But sort of like apart of the start-up process, you set a fan decibel limit, and the system revs each fan until it sees the decibel limit reached.
I don't think you'd want something listening to your room all the time but if you could have it find that limit on the curve for each fan by reving the fan slowely and then stopping once the noise ticks past 40 decibels for example. It would let you set a common volume level for all fans (in instances where you have different fan types, ratings that just generate sound at different RPMs).

The end goal would be to let it run through each fan power source, hit the limit, that sets a profile. You have a profile for specific purposes. There are times when I am overclocking or benchmarking, lets it rip. All else, a decibel limit lets you rev the fans to the maximum they can go, given the trade off of the volume of sound it creates.
