Switching modes in HomeKit / Homebridge results in undefined modus

I've installed the plugin in home bridge and wanted to make some automations to switch from auto to sleep by opening windows etc.

First i've tried it by changing settings of the core 300s settings directly in the automation.
After lots of misbehavior and the long way of switching setting in the automation, i tried it with scenes.

So i made a scene for Off, Auto and Sleep.

But the switch sometimes ended in manual mode with fan speed 1.
So i tried to switch ist Off and Auto after some seconds => same behavior.

I think it has something to do with the auto/manual switch.

What's your way to switch between Auto / Sleep and Off in automations?
