Sidebar (table of contents) button in narrow width doesn't work on most chapters

Seems to work on ch 4 and 5 only - this makes it difficult to navigate through the contents on mobile or when the browser view is narrow, since the table of chapters wont expand (in this screenshot the table of contents is visible, but in other chapters the button won't do anything - table of contents isn't shown)

@BartlettJE I noticed that both ch 4 and 5 (the ones that work) are using quarto-1.5.57, whereas other chapters are using quarto-1.3.450 (I only checked a couple). I know correlation isn't causation, but worth checking.
