Inquiry: Custom plan for a high-volume data requirement #497
-
Hello Pirate Weather Team, First of all, thank you for creating and maintaining the Pirate Weather API! It's an excellent project. We are working on a project that requires a significant amount of historical weather data for the initial setup. We estimate a one-time need for approximately 15 million API requests to build our initial dataset. We've reviewed your GitHub Sponsors tiers and would like to inquire about a custom arrangement for this one-time, high-volume requirement. We would be happy to discuss the details, including fair compensation for the service. If you are open to this, could you let us know the best way to contact you privately (e.g., via email)? Thank you for your time and consideration. Best regards, Jan Wichmann / kinoheld GmbH |

Hi Jan, Thanks for reaching out! This is a really interesting request, and builds into some other time machine improvements I've been thinking about. Do you mind e-mailing me (mail@pirateweather.net) with a couple other details here (i.e. number of locations, number of days, times you're interested in) and we can go from there? The current implementation of timemachine isn't particularly well optimized for this sort of thing, but there's another API backend that should work for you! Thanks, |
