You are correct. The Import is kind of a one time shot unfortunately. If the database is empty and you connect to IBKR then you will get the import trades dialog. I should put a warning description label on the import dialog to let people know (and also update the documentation).

As a workaround the following "should" work:

  • Do the partial import, click "save".
  • Close the program.
  • Go to the database location and rename the database.
  • Start the program again and finish importing the trades that you did not before.
  • Close the program.
  • Go to the database location and open the current database file and the one that you renamed. Open them in a simple text editor like Notepad on Windows.
