Releases: ParticleCore/Particle
Minor improvements
This version is very short, improved a few features and started working on a feature description list to make it easier for users to understand what each option does.
I have also removed Firefox and Chrome folders since they are about to, and have, limited the ability to publish their versions outside their control. Those dedicated versions will now only be available on the respective locations; Mozilla Add-ons and Chrome Webstore.
Corrected the version iteration
Due to the way the Chrome webstore handles version uploads I had to upload a new version to keep up with the correct versions across the multiple platforms.
Don't worry, there are no droids anywhere, just a different version number... for now.
Chrome extension is now available!
As a celebration to this event what could be the best outcome other than finding another bug? This time the settings in the Chrome extension weren't being saved, so this version fixes that problem and also includes an improvement to the fullbrowser mode behavior when the user clicks to activate it; it won't try to go into fullbrowser mode unless the player is already playing/paused.
If everything goes well, this should be the last time a core issue occurs.
Quick fix release
Due to an issue introduced in the previous release 0.0.2 the settings menu could not be scrolled when it was necessary. This quick patch fixes that problem.
New version with new updates and features
After the initial release users have discovered a few issues and requested a few features, almost all of which have been fixed and included in this new version.
To avoid this getting too big, the full changelog can be read in the description found on the link on the left and I will just list the new features that have been added:
- Auto expand video description
- Fullbrowser mode when the video is playing
- Enable grid layout for subscription and/or search result pages
It's live!
After it's first official birth on Jan 1st of 2015, YouTube + (codename Particle) is finally live and hopefully fully functional. This project has been inspired by the work of Jeppe Rune Mortensen - the creator of the incredibly feature packed YouTube Center - and grown by the desire of learning javascript and amateur-level Firefox add-on, and Chrome extension development.
Although this software might not have as many features as other similar ones, it allows me to maintain it with ease and its compact size saves bandwidth on other publishing platforms.
The features I chose to include are features that I found to use most of the times and it is on that profile that I aim to keep up, which also means that if a new feature is requested or created and I find it useful, it might be added.
Due to the upcoming signing-enforced add-on system proposed by Mozilla and the Chrome policies, no files will be included in these release posts. Instead they can be either downloaded from the respective stores (when available), downloaded from the github repo, Greasy Fork and OpenUserJS (in case of the userscript).
