Strange writing speed

Hi folks!

Today I noticed the strange behavior of ShredOS / Nwipe:

When cleaning the microSD Card (Sandisk Ultra 128GB), the writing speed gradually drops to 500 kB/s in each mode (zeroes, ones, random).
I switched to the second Alt-F2 console and tried dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdc status=progress = the result was the same.

But when I launched another cleaner BCWipe Total WipeOut, the speed of all modes remained at the level of about 13 Mb/s

Any ideas to find a cause?

Two possibilities

1. Could be a bug in the Linux USB driver for your hardware.
2. Could be BCwipe doesn't sync the data when writing so doesn't detect a failed write. I would have thought that's unlikely but you never know.

If you wipe it with BCwipe using zeros method with no verification and then follow with a ones method with no verification.

Then verify using ShredOS with 'verify ones' does it pass? What's the verification speed.

Can you also post lspci -k thanks.

I did this:

1. I wiped BCWipe using zeroes (ones are not available in BCWipe)
2. I verified ShredOS "verify zeroes" = speed is correct about 36 Mb/s

I use the older version of BCWipe before the idiotic license change.

BTW: I can't wait for the possibility of definitive resignation from the use of BCWipe ;)
Currently, in ShredOS / Nwipe, I only miss the use of hot-swap disks and elegant ATA SE (without hdparm in ALT-F2)

I have exactly the same opinion!
They fired at the foot and deceived their long -term customers.
But now I'm happy because I started looking for an alternative and found a ShredOS then ;)
