This goes against OpenXRay's goal of being as compatible with vanilla assets as possible; it'd also require mods to receive the same manual porting work to run. |

The suggested adaptation contradicts with SOC/CS support goal: we want to support unchanged, vanilla CS/SOC gamedata. But there is a positive part: Also, there is Return to Clear Sky mod, which aimed to port CS gamedata to COP engine. It has several bugs, and it's no longer developed, but it may be still interesting. The official thread is still available on the old AP-Pro website: http://old.ap-pro.ru/forum/94-90639-1. |

Open Xray is working great with latest version in Call of Pripyat. Instead of adapting Open Xray to Clear Sky it would be a good method to adapt Clear Sky to Open Xray. The original Clear Sky scripts can be changed to work like CoP. The levels can be recompiled in CoP system to be fully compatible. This way we could have the smooth Clear Sky which will be easier to work on. Take the current PDA problems, they can all be solved if the CoP PDA scripts are brought to Clear Sky, which I did for a test.
