Am I understanding correctly that I can use my switchbot bot without the hub with this plugin? I’m using different plugin and it’s working great but I want use latest and greatest and am I doing something wrong or I can’t use it without the hub?

You can use it without a hub, you just need to enable Bluetooth for device you want to do it without a hub. Open issue if you have any issues.

I'm also struggling to set this up using Bluetooth. My device doesn't show up when I disable cloud in the app. Are there any instructions?

Don't disable cloud. I still use the cloud to get info on the device, but use BLE connection to get updates and push updates.

Yes, but how do I know it’s sending commands through Bluetooth? There’s no setting for it, or any indication I can find.

You will set enable BLE for each device that you want to send with BLE commands

Okay thanks I think I found it. For anyone wondering, you need to add a device using it’s Device ID to Settings > Optional SwitchBot Device Settings and there’s a checklist there

Yes just like how it was with the old homebridge-switchbot-ble plugin.

The problem is that we don’t want or can’t use the cloud anyway. Other plugins are working with BLE exclusively.

There is a setting to enable BLE.
