Issues with contact sensor on the Lock

Anyone have any issues with the contact sensor on the lock? I have the switchbot on homekit and the contact sensor displays but is always stuck in an open state. Is this a bug?

When I tested the sensor on the native switchbot app with a 5-second "door ajar" alert, it only works once and then never again. Not sure if this is a hardware issue or software issue since it did work once.
