BangleJS Support #129

The development branch of the main OpenSeizureDetector Android App includes support for a Bluetooth data source, which has been updated to be compatible with the prototype BangleJS watch app. I have run it for over 11 hours and have not had any trouble with the connection dropping out (it recovers itself if the watch and phone go out of bluetooth range for a while). The basic accelerometer based seizure detection algorithm is working. We get heart rate readings from the watch, but there seems to be an issue with the watch heart rate values because they are consistently higher than a manual heart rate measurement and one from a Garmin watch. So if any technically inclined users are interested, it would be great if people would get involved in trying this and getting it working as a low cost end user seizure detector. Please see details of how to use it here. |

BangleJS is an open source smart watch which runs the Espruino JavaScript interpreter.
We had a working prototype of a Bluetooth data source running on the original BangleJS watch some time ago, but the watch was quite big and heavy, so not really suitable, so it was not progressed very far.
A user recently pointed out that there is now a BangleJS2 watch available, which is much smaller and lighter, being similar in size to a Garmin VenuSQ or PineTime watch. It costs £64 +VAT, so is less than half the price of a compatible Garmin watch, so it is a good candidate for a low cost seizure detector.
