Allow dataset uploader ownership to be reassigned to another ORCID #3496

I would like to request a feature to allow the reassignment of a dataset's "uploader" to a different ORCID account.
Background
Currently, the uploader of a dataset is automatically set based on the ORCID linked at the time of upload.
However, in our case, datasets were originally uploaded by data curators using a shared lab account.
As a result, the uploader identity was later reassigned to whoever linked their ORCID to that account — even if they were not the original uploader.
Motivation
We understand this is likely a transitional issue caused by the shift toward ORCID-based account linking.
However, it creates confusion around authorship and makes it difficult to assign proper credit in collaborative research settings — especially for labs that use shared accounts, or when personnel changes occur after the data has been uploaded.
Proposed Feature
Please consider supporting one of the following:
- Reassigning the uploader identity to the correct ORCID account via the web interface
- Allowing manual reassignment through a request to the OpenNeuro support team
