How-To Update from archive with composer

I have a seperate repo where i always push the OM releases to. Therefore, I am using usually the full upgrade zips (the one with the vendor folder etc.) from the release and merge it in.
(Then I diff the changes between the releases and apply it to the custom shops)

Because of #4093 I tried using the src archive (without the vendor etc. folder) and run composer install --no-dev --optimize-autoloader -n from the root folder. In the end I am getting errors about failiures when applying patches to zf1-future:

Package eloquent/enumeration is abandoned, you should avoid using it. No replacement was suggested.

Can I ignore those? (I guess, not :) )
What did I do wrong?

I'm not sure how the zip with the vendor directory is generated, but I suggest you to move your installation to composer. It's time consuming, but it's the old future!

Easiest ... run Linux via VirtualBox and forget about all that Windows workarounds 😀

Oh boys, you make my stomach hurt... (such things in a minor release...)

And yes, I am already using WSL2 ;) But getting the releases and syncing them to my development repos is (was?) done on the Windows side until now. Does the PHPStorm auto-sync-on-save-via-ssh-into-wsl2 keep those symlinks or does it remove them?

Sven, Don't laugh. I just really thought about the VBox. (Or hyper-v - if it can handle linux) :P

I still run Win7 ... VBox is easy to setup, it's nearly fast as native ... and no fu** with wsl configuration ... :)

I didn't notice any differences in performance between (Windows 10 + WSL2 + Docker) and (Linux + Docker), but in Windows I need at least 16 MB of RAM to run decently with PHPStorm open. I work in a VMware where I created my development/testing environment.
