Adding payment/transaction automatically puts orderstate to processing, is there a way to keep it at pending?

I thought I would make a module that also would process partial payments to an order. However if I make a partial payment like this:

			$history = $order->addStatusHistoryComment($comment, false);

			$order->setTotalPaid($orderPaid + $payTotal);
			$order->setTotalDue($orderDue - $payTotal);

			$transactionId = "646546315ASU";
			$payment = $order->getPayment();
			$payment = $payment->setTransactionId($transactionId);
			$payment->setCurrencyCode($order->getBaseCurrencyCode());

			$trdetail = array('Context'=>'Payment','Amount'=>$payTotal,'Status'=>0);
$payment->setTransactionAdditionalInfo(Mage_Sales_Model_Order_Payment_Transaction::RAW_DETAILS, $trdetail);
			$payment->setParentTransactionId($transactionId);
			$payment->setShouldCloseParentTransaction(true);
			$payment->setIsTransactionClosed(1);

			$payment->registerCaptureNotification($payTotal, true);

The order state changes automatically to processed, this is also mentioned in the history like this

How should I make sure it never gets this state? (I want to detect the processing state automatically, so putting it back from processing to pending or pending_payment is not really an option)
