Description
According to the instructions of the Digital Level for MKS GEN_L v2.1, a pin has to be soldered. I tried it in one board and I damaged the pad, the passthrough hole included some metalic tube that was accidentally removed when desoldering the pad. I purchased a new board and confirmed what I suspected, the pin soldering is not necessary at all and this pin that lies below the focuser driver can be used directly:
Realized by analyzing the schematics, pin is marked "5" in J1 connector:
Confirmed by using a testing firmware with only Gyro enabled.
I recommend modifying the instructions to facilitate the inclusion of a digital level in the project, as soldering a pin is not an easy task for everyone and, in fact, can break a board.
EDIT: looks like we can also use the female pin in the E1(focuser) driver connector (TBC), the one marked in red here:
It only requires to place a jumper in the E1 (focuser) pinout to enable UART, like it's described here:
